This temporary employment training program is intended to provide necessary training for individuals pursuing a career in Michigan Public Schools within the typical professional disciplines. Examples would include those positions that generally require at least a Bachelor’s degree and also require certifications, licensure, and/or other specialized endorsements (psychology, therapy, social work, teaching, etc.). This temporary employment program, when involving an internship program of a organization such as a college or university, will be tailored to recognize and fulfill the necessary training, work experience, and all other requirements of both the organization’s internship program as well as all licensure requirements to work in Michigan within the field of study involved.
LISD training program compensation will include at least the following:
- $230 pay per full work day. (based on a minimum of seven (7) hours worked per day). Typical school/work year 188 work days, would equal $43,240 annually
- Health Insurance Plan: Select from all non-union Plans offered (up to full-family) or select cash-in-lieu which would provide an additional monthly cash payment, and maintain dental, vision, long-term disability, and at least $20,000 life insurance. (Plan details available upon request
- Five paid leave days for the school year (subject to request and supervisor approval)
