SUMMARY:

Responsible for post-award local, state and federal grant accounting to ensure compliance with funding source administrative guidelines, timely receipt of revenue, accurate submission of financial reports, A-133 Federal Audit requirements and orderly closure of grant-funded projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required: 

• Associate Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or 5 years work experience in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully on the telephone, in person or while training
• Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve customer problems, establish priorities, meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of situations with professionalism
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to take initiative and work independently or in a team environment
• Flexible schedule                                                                                                        

Preferred:

• Associate Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting and 5 years work experience in  Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Experience working with Michigan Electronic Grants System (MEGS)
• Fund accounting and federal grant accounting experience
